Without further ado, we at GNMParents are proud to announce that this week’s Hot Stuff award goes to… LuckyMom!!! Wh00t!1!! Lucky Mom is awarded Hot Stuff Of The Week for her essay on the apparent success of carrots from McDonalds and the repercussions of marketing that is aimed at our kids. A very worthy read. Congrats to Lucky Mom, and thanks to her for keeping her eye on the parenting ball.
…
And Now… The moment you’ve all been waiting for! - Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Grandparents of All Ages! Please cast your eye on the center ring, where our trained monkeys have corralled The Hottest Stuff On The Internet!
Ok, so that was a bit of a buildup, but still, we hope you dig the following nominees:
Earnest Parenting brings us a genuine smile with her retelling of The Fine Toothed Comb. As they say, out of the mouths of babes.
Next, allowing a personal opinion: I’m a fan of Joseph’s entire blog: Birthday Party Secrets Revealed, but since Hot Stuff is about picking a specific entry, take a look at Decorating A Kid’s Birthday Party Without Balloons. I’m a balloon-aholic, so I really dug these ideas. Painted paper plates, streamers, tinsel, very cool!
Courting Destiny gives us an unflinching and overtly candid view of being an adoptee. I find this post to be moving, enlightening, and inspiring.
Last, but by now means least, comes a genuine burst of inspiration and renewed hope from Jen Hiatt, who writes about her granddaughters impossible tooth. She reminds us that nothing is certain, and that faith is everything.
Well, that’s it, time for a quick vote and then a snack, ’cause hey, you read all those entries, you clearly deserve a popsicle. Have fun, enjoy your days, and don’t forget to send us more Hot Stuff - email your favorites to Megin.
