Round these parts, summer vacation kicks off at 11 am tomorrow morning. We’re excited about that here in the Hatch house. Things have been not quite right around here for a little bit, but with the approach of summertime fun, we are looking forward to happy long days spent together. I’m not the only one with summer fun on the brain, judging from this week’s Hot Stuff nominations:
First up we offer Michelle’s Construction Paper Castles. As soon as I saw this post, I got out the scissors and the glue. My 5 year old and I made a mini kingdom. Requiring almost no materials and as much or as little time as you have, it’s a great activity for a rainy morning or hot afternoon.
Kelby at Kids Cuisine earned some serious points with her kid when she ok-ed Popsicles for Breakfast. I love the idea of adding yogurt and fruit to really boost the nutrients. Even if you don’t serve them for breakfast, they make a healthy dessert or afternoon snack.
Next, it’s summer camp at home! Courtney at Two Straight Lines shares her plan to organize her summer by sending her kids to Camp Russell.
Charlene from crazedparent shares a great clean up trick that her son taught her. We love Legos and K’nex and Lincoln Logs and toy food. This trick works for lots of toys, and it has the added benefit of working those motor skills.
Once again, a hearty thanks to those who sent me nominations. If you still have questions about what to nominate, the answer is “anything!” Share a favorite post/product/party tip to introduce our readers to your internet. Just leave a comment or send an email to hatchew at hotmail dot com. We’ll present the nominees for your vote… and the winner gets a hot button to display on their site. Now, let the voting begin!!

Thanks for the nomination, my boys had a lot of fun with that project. Spencer got a set of tiny iron knights for Christmas and they work perfectly with the castle.
