Guess what time it is? It’s time to review and vote for this week’s Hot Stuff nominations. We have a whole host of great posts for your reading pleasure… but first, a hearty thank you for those who send me nominations!
In honor of the just-past holiday, our first nomination is for the Father’s Day Collaboration at The Blogfathers. Nine dads have shared their thoughts on fatherhood… including the fact that “diaper wipes are the single most utilitarian tool outside of duct tape.”
In her post, I am Woman Blogger, Hear me Roar, IzzyMom shares how blogging empowers women and what that means to her. I think a lot of folks relate to this… as evidenced by this community. It is about connecting and respecting and supporting and informing and advising.
Mark Gregston offers advice on balancing control and limits with teenagers in Control: Giving it back to your Teen. I think this post really applies to younger kids, too. It’s about allowing children the space and power to make their own choices withing reasonable limits. It’s about balance.
Jay is talking about balance as well, in her post stop telling me I’m a bad mum. Is AP parenting anti-feminist parenting? Does using daycare “rupture the parental bond?” I have personally always found extremism to be scary. There is more than one way to be a fantastic parent.
Speaking of judgment… is it ever appropriate to offer unsolicited parenting advice? Save the cases of clear abuse, do you have a responsibility to speak up and tell a mom or dad when they are screwing something up? In his post Training, Joseph shares his experience and asks the question “Is it ever alright to interfere with the parenting practice of other people?”
Last we have Cathy, who is raising “the Apprentice.” Do you give your children an allowance? What is their relationship with the almighty dollar? Personally, I think it’s a sign of proper parenting that young Ben wasn’t trying to sell Hannah…
Please take a moment to cast your vote for your favorite nominated post… and be sure to leave a comment or email hatchew at hotmail dot com with next week’s nomination.

Hey, I wanted to vote for “Stop Telling Me I’m a Bad Mum” but my husband and I have too similar IP addresses because of being on the same LAN. How can I vote?
Thanks.
