Hot Stuff: Vote For Your Favorite!

May 29th, 2007 by Megin Hatch · No Comments

new-image.JPGHas it kept you up at night? That nagging question that reappears each time you close your eyes? What the heck is “Hot Stuff?” Well, lemme tell you… there are so many millions of wonderful things on the internet. If you line up all of our blogrolls we might have an occasional overlap, but by and large we all have our own favorite places to hang out. Hot Stuff is a chance to introduce people to the places you love. There are absolutely no limitations as to what you can nominate.* We at GNMParents lay out your choices each Tuesday and allow our readers to vote for their favorite! There. Now that you know you can look forward to a good night’s sleep.

Thanks so much for all of you who nominated. Seriously, considering how many people participate in our community, our nominators are usually a select few. Is today your day to de-lurk and share a nomination? Just leave a comment or send an email to: hatchew at hotmail dot com. Jump in!

Our 1st nomination goes to Laura the Organizing Junkie. There are a ton of reasons to stop by Laura’s blog, but this nomination recognizes her Menu Plan Monday posts. Menu planning is a regular goal of mine. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t. Laura and the gang on her site can really inspire you to get your cook books out.

I am not sure there is a parent in the free world who isn’t subscribed to Parent Hacks. The lovely and talented Asha always brings together so many fantastic parenting ideas from so many corners of the internet. This tip from Mike about using Waymarking.com to find playgrounds is a great hack for parents who travel with their kids.

There’s always a lot of talk about parents using the tv as a babysitter when they need to get stuff done. Paula and Sherri have a great alternative. Check out their activity bags for some excellent suggestions on occupying the kids while you shower or cook or do whatever needs doing.

Moxie of Ask Moxie has kicked off a great collaboration on What Boys Should Know By the Time They Become Men. Not only are her suggestions great, but the comments are really full of meat.

Chris at Notes From the Trenches shares an observation of kids- girls- being mean. Are girls more mean than boys? What’s a parent to do when they witness this cruelty? What can we take away from this, as parents of girls? We can certainly start with “I’m Sorry.”

Is “I’m a bad mommy” the new “I’m fat?” Mom 101 shares her thoughts in her post, Bad Mommy. She throws around her own examples of bad mommying and puts in in perspective. She encourages us the remember all of the ways we are good moms. Amen, Mom 101!

Thanks for taking the time to click through and read all of the nominated folks. Thanks for being an active part of GNMParents as well as the larger parenting internet. Remember, it’s time to send in your nominees for next week’s Hot Stuff vote!
